I have heard some pretty awful stories over the weekend, from the 'laptop murder' to the HIV positive man injecting his wife with his own blood (he should be on death row right now!), but the most horrible and sick story I have heard comes from South Africa.
Reports are coming from the country that there has been a growing trend of violent crime against the lesbian community, sickly known as 'corrective rapes', and to top it off, it has also been reported that the majority of police officers 'laugh off the claims'.
Seriously, 'corrective rape'!!!! These guys are sick, perverted rapists, plain and simple. Can you imagine having the audacity in trying to actually justify something as violent and damaging as rape!!!??? This idea could'nt have manifested out of thin air, there had to be some belief source to these crimes, a belief that homosexuality is some sort of disease that can be corrected, and in that way. This isn't the first time a belief structure has been adopted by certain people to use to their advantage is it? Things like this make you really doubt how far we have come as a human race, my reply in these situations usually is ; 'I just don't know anymore!'
I'm firmly of the belief that if you want to be gay, straight, lesbian, dress like a member of the opposite sex, ride a unicycle to work or whatever you want, as long as you're not harming others, you have every right to do so. - am I so wrong in thinking this? I'll finish with a thought for the day which a good friend once said to me ; 'Tell me this Mac, if somebody came up to you and asked you to leave the bar you were in because you were kissing your girlfriend, waht would you think?'
ps - I got a few spelling mistakes pointed out to me from previous rants, which is ironic, seeing as I always point them out when others do it, but do remember, these are rants, and in the time it takes you to read them, I have typed them. Crash Bang Wallop.

This is why I have no respect for the law!!!
(Ok first off let me clarify I'm not a 'bad' person, but I live by my ethics, and not the law. It just so happens my ethics fall in line with the law.....96% of the time.)
In simple terms, this is the news that greeted me this morning - a 30 stone convicted paedo' has his sentence suspended because he is too fat to go to jail..........excuse me for cursing....WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!
This is the news that 30 stone John William Mc Conaghy was sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars for abuse that began when his female victim was 10 years old. But the term was suspended as the judge ruled that due to his obesity he would not receive proper care in prison.
NOW GET READY FOR THE RANT
First off, that length of sentence is does not, in anyway equate or make up for the damage done to his victim! Obviously it would be near impossible to do so under the law. But in my world, it would come a bit closer. Okay, so we'll settle for the judges less than lengthy term. But old pervy lardass will be going into jail, if we have to forcibly squeeze him into 8x8 cell. Then, we open up a hotline for suggestions on how to suitably punish this sick, burger munching low life and impliment each suggestion daily.
If I were to be so bold as to suggest a punishment......well, hava you ever seen the mvie se7en? I'll say no more.
But back to the title of this blog, todays subject is not the only reason I have lost, or perhaps have no respect for the law is the fact that it is highly unbalanced. The scales of justice seem to favour the real criminals these days. Every week you can open your local newspaper and read the same names getting off with crimes with a caution (obviously in many of these cases jail would be an over the top punishment, but what ever happaned to community service?), but also examples of first time offenders going to jail for 6 months over a brawl on a saturday night. I will also refer to the case a few years back of a farmer shooting dead a man who was burgling his house, and the farmer was jailed. Apparently you're not allowed to protect your property ad the lives or your loved ones....well theres an example of where the law, and my ethics greatly differ! For if someone was to enter my house, armed with any sort of weapon, they have the potential to harm my family, and I would do whatever it took to prevent that, even take that persons life. Now look deep inside and tell me you wouldn't do the same.
I am aware that I ''went off on one'' there, but the main thing to take out of this is, what on earth was this Judge thinking, and why does the law allow this to happen,

Footballers Wages
Firstly, apologies for my second blog to also be about the subject of football (soccer for my american friends), it will not always be like this, yet todays news demands it. For the second time this season, Portsmouth FC players have not received their wages. Now, obviously many people argue over the amount of money premiership players get paid and whether or not they deserve it, but that is not my point. My point is how the Premier League can firstly allow a chancer like Sulamain Al Fahim to buy the club (I use the word buy quite loosely, as it became clear after 6 weeks that he couldn't afford to buy Kettering Town, nevermind Portsmouth. Oh, and yeah, how many 'rich' Arabs do you see taking a Taxi?), and then allow Falcondrone (a company registered to the British Virgin Islands, operated by Ali Al Faraj) without properly investigating the financial state of either party. The FA and Premier League cannot seriously argue that these two parties truthfully passed the Fair and Proper Persons Test, for if they did, their collective accountants are going to need a stern talking to.
I would now like to announce that I, Sean Maguire intend to launch a takeover bid at Portsmouth next month. I have sold 95% of my assets, including my PS3, CDJs and bicycle, and hope to raise more capital from a small loan form the credit union................what? I'd safely say my miniscule aount of money is much more real than the 'money' going into Portsmouth FC these days!

FIFA ; Hypocrites???
No, I am not going to be ranting on about whether or not the Rep Of Ireland should be in the World Cup or not. Rather, I am ranting about the hypocritical and contradictory actions of FIFA and their Fuhrer , Mr Sepp Blatter. I will ignore his patronising response to Ireland's 33rd team request, and refer to another Irish request; that he consider either the inclusion of goalmouth referees or using video referees. Herr Blatter's response was one I expected of a man who is quite obviously opposed to any change ; his mainly referred to the rulebook stating that the referees decision is final. Fair enough, (and this is were FIFA are being hypocritical and contradictory) but why then have their disciplinary committee investigate Thierry Henry's handball in the Ireland match, with the threat that he may be banned from the World Cup Finals?? Surely that undermines the rule that 'the referee's decision is final', does it not??
